The form of waist binding simulates the confinement that women encounter in society and expresses criticism of the confinement of women’s bodies. The restrictions and oppression faced by women in society are expressed through the use of plaster and distressing. Part of this work highlights the hope that every woman can break through her own shackles and be brave enough to be herself.
